Teenteen Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Teenteen gives teens a voice in where families go: teens rate the places they really visit, and families find places teens really love. Because many of our users are teenagers, privacy is built into how Teenteen works.
This policy covers teenteen.co, our sign-up forms, and the Teenteen reviews pilot (together, the "Service"). The full family app is still being built – when it launches, we'll update this policy before it collects anything new.
The short version
- Teenteen is for ages 13–21 (parents and business contacts can be any adult age). Teens 13–17 can join right away – we let a parent know, and the parent can delete the account at any time. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
- Reviews are public, shown with a nickname and age (for example, "SkaterGirl · 15") – never a real name, a photo, an email or contact details.
- No chat. Users can't message each other.
- We never sell personal information.
- A parent can see their teen's reviews and can delete their teen's account until the teen turns 18.
- You can see, fix or delete your information any time: hello@teenteen.co.
1. Who we are
Teenteen is a venture in formation – not a company yet. Until the company is incorporated, the Service is run by Teenteen's founders (see About us), New York, NY ("Teenteen", "we", "us"), who are responsible for your information. When the Teenteen company is formed, it will take over the Service and this policy, and we'll tell you.

2. Who can use Teenteen
- 13 and over. At sign-up we ask for a date of birth. If someone is under 13, we stop the sign-up and don't save anything.
- Teens 13–17 can join right away. The teen gives us a parent's or guardian's email, and we email the parent right away to let them know. The parent can:
- delete the teen's account and everything in it with one click, at any time until the teen turns 18;
- give their OK, which is needed before a teen under 18 can use rewards;
- do nothing – the account stays active. If the parent hasn't answered, we send up to 2 reminders.
- At 18, a parent's access ends automatically. We tell both of them, and the user can choose to keep sharing with the parent.
- If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to hello@teenteen.co and we'll delete it.
3. What we collect
When you sign up on the website
| Who | What we ask |
|---|---|
| Teen | Date of birth, first and last name, email, country and state or city, and – if under 18 – a parent's email |
| Parent | First and last name, email, country and state or city, how you heard about us, an optional message – and, if you choose, your teens' details (see "Teens a parent adds" below) |
| Business | Business name, type, website and location, what you offer teens, the contact person's first and last name and job title, work email, how you heard about us, and an optional message |
| Investor | Name, email, phone, optional fund/company and message, and whether you want investor updates |
| Press or contact form | Name, email and your message – and, depending on the form, your outlet, subject and deadline, or your phone and role |
When you use the reviews pilot
- Account: email, date of birth, the nickname you choose, and – for teens 13–17 – the parent's email and whether they gave their OK.
- Reviews: the place, your rating, your optional comment, and the date you visited.
- Points and rewards: points earned and how (reviews, invites, return visits), who joined with your invite link, and rewards you chose and used.
- No photos and no location tracking. You choose the place yourself (for example, by scanning a Teenteen QR code at the place).
Family link and teens a parent adds
When you join as a parent, we email you a family link to send your teens. A teen who signs up with it is linked to you, so we know which parent to tell.
You can also add your teens when you sign up: first name, last name, date of birth and – if you choose – their email. We only save teens aged 13–21. Please add only your own children, or teens you're legally responsible for.
- If you add a teen's email, we send them one invitation, after you confirm your own email. We don't email them again unless they join.
- If they join with that email, we link their account to yours.
- We delete the details you entered about your teens after 30 days. A teen who joins has their own account, with their own details.
Records we keep
- That we told the parent, and – if they gave their OK or asked us to delete the account – when, and which version of these documents it applied to.
- Whether you confirmed your email, and when.
- Whether you agreed to receive news from us (optional, see section 5).
Automatically
Basic technical information (device type, browser, pages visited, time of visit), to keep the Service working and secure. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
4. Why we use it
- To run the Service: sign you up, tell a parent and record their OK, publish reviews, count ratings, and run points, invites and rewards.
- To build the Teens Approved stamp from teens' ratings.
- To answer you and send service emails (notices to parents, reminders, account messages).
- To keep the Service safe: prevent fake reviews, fake invites and misuse, and comply with the law.
- To learn what works, using combined statistics.
We never sell personal information.
Giving us information is voluntary, but without it we can't sign you up (for example, we need an email and a date of birth).
5. Emails
- Service emails (an email to confirm your address, a welcome email, a notice to a parent, reminders, account messages, and a reply to investors who contact us) are part of the Service.
- News from Teenteen and investor updates are optional: we send them only if you tick the box for them. You can stop any time with the link in every email. We don't offer news emails to teens under 18.
6. Who sees what
| Who | What they see |
|---|---|
| Everyone (including businesses) | Reviews and ratings, with the reviewer's nickname and age only |
| A parent (teen 13–17) | All of their teen's reviews, and their teen's account details |
| Businesses | The same as everyone – never an email, full name, date of birth or contact details |
| A partner giving a reward | Only what's needed to give it to you (such as a reward code) – never your reviews |
| Other users | Only public reviews. There's no chat |
| People in your private groups (coming with the app) | In a family or friends group you joined by invitation, members see each other's name, nickname, age and reviews – never an email, phone number, date of birth or location |
Service providers that run the Service for us, only for that purpose and under contract:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Website hosting |
| Supabase | Database and accounts |
| Resend | Sending our emails (such as notices to parents) |
When required: if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or to protect our rights. If Teenteen changes hands: for example when the company is formed or in a merger, the information passes to the new owner, who must keep this policy's promises.
7. Where your information is stored
Your sign-up details are stored in the European Union (Germany), with Supabase. Our website and email providers (Vercel and Resend) process them in the United States, and we may access them from Israel, where we work. When information moves between countries, we use the safeguards the law requires.
8. How long we keep it
- Teens a parent added: deleted after 30 days – a teen who joins has their own account.
- Sign-ups with an unconfirmed email: deleted after 7 days.
- Website sign-ups: until we launch publicly and up to 24 months after, unless you ask us to delete them earlier.
- Accounts: while the account is active.
- Reviews: a review stays on Teenteen even after you delete your account, still shown with your nickname and age. You can delete any of your reviews yourself, or ask us to delete them all at any time – and a parent can ask for their teen's.
- Backups: deleted information may stay in our backups for a limited time, until they're overwritten.
9. Your choices and rights
At any time you can: - see the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it (including your reviews); - withdraw consent, and stop news emails; - if you're a parent of a teen under 18: see your teen's reviews, withdraw your OK, and delete your teen's account.
Write to hello@teenteen.co. We reply within 30 days and may need to confirm who you are first.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights: - Israel – under the Protection of Privacy Law, 1981, including to review and correct information. - EU / UK – under the GDPR, including access, deletion, portability and objection, and to complain to your data protection authority. Our legal bases: providing the Service you asked for, consent (including a parent's consent), and our legitimate interest in keeping the Service safe. - US states (e.g. California) – to know, delete and correct. We don't sell or "share" personal information as California law defines it. Users under 18 can ask us to remove content they posted.
10. Cookies
We use only cookies needed for the Service to work (such as staying signed in). No advertising or tracking cookies.
11. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, limited access (only the people who run Teenteen can see account details), and database access rules. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For important changes – especially about teens' information, or when the family app launches – we'll tell you by email before they take effect.
